Game Board
Game Board in new TCG game Legends of Elysium
The central element of the card game is the battlefield where players clash. That central element is called Game Board.
Genesis Board
The standard Legends of Elysium game board is called Genesis Board. It is made of a grid of 37 hexagons. Each player’s hero is positioned on the northernmost and southernmost hexes. At the start of the battle, the majority of the hexes on the board are empty. However there are three exceptions. Hex in the center, hex at the top of the leftmost row, and hex at the bottom of the rightmost row are reserved for Special Fields.
Special Fields
Genesis Board has three Special Fields (SF). These fields bring blessings to the player who controls them at the start of their turn. In order to control a Special Field, a unit has to occupy it. Bonuses that Special Fields give are randomly determined at the start of each battle.
Special Field Symbol in Legends of Elysium | Bonus Effect when unit occupy Special Field |
Heart | Increase health of a unit by 1 |
Mana | Increase mana by 1 |
Crossed Swords | Increase attack of a unit by 1 |
Card | Draw 1 card |
Fire Sword | Deal 1 damage to random enemy unit |
Discount | Decrease the cost of a random card in hand by 1 mana |
One-Time Bonuses
In addition to Special Fields, the board can also have One-Time Bonuses (OTB). Each of them will be marked with one of six symbols, indicating their purpose. When a player’s unit steps onto a One-Time Bonus, they receive the indicated, by the symbol, bonus immediately.
The symbols are identical as in Special Fields:
Special Field Symbol in Legends of Elysium | One-Time Bonus Effect |
Heart | Increase health of a unit by 1 |
Mana | Increase mana by 1 |
Crossed Swords | Increase attack of a unit by 1 |
Card | Draw 1 card |
Fire Sword | Deal 1 damage to random enemy unit |
Discount | Decrease the cost of a random card in hand by 1 mana |
Player’s Territory
During the battle, players will take turns to perform chosen actions. Players can terraform up to two empty hexes into the Lands of their choosing each turn. This allows them to control more Lands where units can be summoned, as well as meeting the requirements of playing certain cards. For further details about lands, check out the Lands page.
Game Boards
In the future additional game boards will be released enabling even more strategic depth in the gameplay. Examples of the game boards that could be released in the future are available below.
