Card Decks
Card decks are one of the most important aspects of the Legends of Elysium game. Building a deck that not only reflects the player’s gameplay style but also leads to a competitive element between opponents. In this article, you will learn what to pay attention to when building your first deck.
Deck Building Restrictions
When creating their deck, players need to follow few simple rules:
Legends of Elysium Deck Building Criteria | Restriction Details |
Total Cards in a Deck | 24 cards |
Card Ownership | Must be owned by the player |
Maximum Identical Common Cards | 2 identical cards allowed |
Maximum Identical Rare Cards | 2 identical cards allowed |
Maximum Identical Epic Cards | 1 identical card allowed |
Maximum Legendary Cards | 1 card allowed |
The amount of different Common/Rare/Epic cards in the deck is limited only by the base limit of 24 cards per deck. The exception to that rule are Legendary cards, as there can be a maximum of one Legendary card in a deck.
Default Decks
When a new player creates their account for the first time, they get access to predetermined decks, called default decks. There are 3 default decks available in Legends of Elysium: Human, Orc, Dark Elf.
LOE Card Type | Quantity in Default Deck |
Common Cards | 14 |
Rare Cards | 9 |
Epic Cards | 1 |
Cards in the default decks are not the possession of the player. It is important to note, that if a player chooses to edit default decks with cards they own, they can do so. However if a player removes a card from the default deck, and replaces it with a card they own, the removed card cannot be used anymore, unless the player owns it.
Focus on Your Hero
As a new player, the first thing to do is choose your hero’s race and class. This decision determines your style of playing the game. Each race gives bonuses to different types of units, and your class provides extra advantages in battles. Learn more about heroes on the RACES AND CLASSES page.
Improve Your Strategy
In Legends of Elysium, players get to decide how many unit and spell cards they want to use in their decks. Players get to choose whether their decs will have only cards of a specific Lands requirement (Farmland, Mountain, Forest) or cards of different Lands will be mixed up within their decks. Remember to look for cards that work together in a synergy. Sometimes, even a seemingly weak card can make a big difference when combined with another.
Test, Play, and Have Fun!
The more you play, the better you’ll understand the strengths and weaknesses of your deck. Facing different challenges from opponents will help you optimize your own strategy. Don’t be afraid to edit, remove, and create new decks.
